Bone meal powder for plants: what it is

Bone meal is a slow-release organic fertiliser made from crushed animal bones. It is mainly used as a source of phosphorus, which plants need for roots, flowers and fruit. Because it releases nutrients slowly, it works best mixed into soil rather than left on the surface.

Bone meal for flowering plants and vegetables

Use it on roses, hibiscus, jasmine and other flowering plants, on fruit and vegetable plants such as tomato, chilli and brinjal, and on indoor plants and lawns. It pairs well with vermicompost for plants, which adds organic matter; both come together in the bone meal and vermicompost combo.
