“Manure made from animal bones: helpful for the growth of areca and coconut crops” (translated from Kannada)
The Kannada daily Prajavani reported from Bengaluru on bone meal manure made by Mysuru-based FAMCO, which drew farmers’ attention at the four-day National Horticulture Fair organised by ICAR-IIHR at Hesaraghatta. The article quotes Abdul Aleem of FAMCO on the use of bone meal for areca, coconut, rubber and ginger, and on suggested application quantities for these crops. It notes strong demand for the manure in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The price was reported as ₹29,000 per tonne.
